1. What is the difference between the WVC-Encore! DVD-ROMs and the audio tapes which were previously available?
The DVD-ROMs provide a wide range of capabilities which simply are not possible on audio tape. Slide presentations are made available fully synchronized with the speaker's audio. A search engine makes it possible to search for presentations by speaker name, presentation title and keyword.

2. What is the difference between this product and the Conference Notes CD-ROM?
This product contains video recordings from presentations presented at the 2007 Western Veterinary Conference. The Conference Notes CD-ROM contains presentation abstracts submitted before the conference as PDF documents. These two products are complimentary and together provide a means of capturing the conference presentations for future research.

3. What kind of computer configuration will I need to run the DVD-ROMs?
Almost any computer purchased within the past 3 years with a DVD-ROM drive should be adequate enough to run the DVD-ROMs. If your computer does not have a DVD-ROM drive, they are now available at almost any computer store for less than $100 and can be installed either internally or externally.

4. Do I need to install any software on my computer to run the DVD-ROMs?
The only piece of software you will need to install, if you don't already have it, is QuickTime. This free plugin takes less than five minutes to download and install and will allow you to view the videos contained on the DVD-ROMs. We also highly recommend using iTunes to listen to, organize and burn WVC-Encore MP3 files.

5. Why can't I buy the presentations individually?
It would be far too costly to produce CD/DVD-ROMs of individual presentations due to the the CD/DVD-ROM manufacturing process and the limitations placed on minimum orders. By grouping the presentations together we are able to reduce the costs and pass along those savings to you. As well, by having multiple presentations on a single DVD-ROM you can search and cross reference hundreds of presentations to find valuable information you may not have otherwise found or known of.

6. Will I be able to play these DVD-ROMs on my DVD player connected to my television?
DVD-ROMs are only playable on your computer DVD-ROM drive. Standard DVDs can hold approximately 8-10 hours of video whereas DVD-ROMs can hold up to 150 hours of encoded video.
